Welcome! I’m Bill Westers, a passionate Jesus-follower and the creator of Encountering TRUTH.

As a high school teacher of over twenty years, I’ve seen firsthand how culture has changed and the effect it has had on our youth. I’ve been moved to speak out in defense of our young people and the Church as a whole.

I came to Christ in my early teens and instantly developed a passion for the Lord. I have always had a heart for ministry and for missions. After high school, I completed a one-year ministry internship at Teen Mania Ministries. I then went on to earn my bachelor’s degree from Oral Roberts University, where I was a double major in French and in Pastoral Christian Ministries with an emphasis on Missions.

In response to my experience in the classroom and public education as a whole, as well as the overall cultural tide, I began studying apologetics heavily through books, podcasts, websites, and more. I am also a graduate of the CrossExamined Instructor Academy, an intensive training event for emerging apologists seeking to improve their presentation skills and gain confidence when answering skeptics.

I’m a family man with a beautiful, amazing wife and two incredible children. Being a father in this chaotic world has brought out the protective nature in me. It has been one of my most driving motivations for digging deep into apologetics.

Now, more than ever, we as Christian parents must rise to the challenge of discipling our children in historic Christianity, imparting a biblical worldview, and teaching them to discern TRUTH in a crazy and chaotic culture.
